MAY 2020
On May 30th, I attended the protest at the La Mesa police station. The experience was life changing. It still seems surreal to know that I was able to be a part of a movement so powerful. Though it was challenging, I tried to capture the protest from locations that felt uncomfortably close, to the point where sometimes a police officer or protest organizer would tell me to step back. I want the pictures to speak for themselves. I hope they create more unity than division, and if more people can see how powerful and meaningful a movement like this can be and use these photos as inspiration, then I will be content.
