I was the first ICU nurse to admit a COVID patient way back in the year and grateful to be the first ICU nurse at UCSD to get the vaccine.
I hope these pictures capture a glimpse of the what it's like inside the ICU. It’s frustrating that the real life nightmarish stuff Isn’t documented because of HIPPA and patient privacy. That’s the footage that needs to be seen by the public eye — the horrific deaths we’ve seen, the painful long hospital stays, nurses lifting 500lb patients and proning them... I wish so badly that those moments were captured.
